Hamas states that Palestinian groups reject further hostage releases unless Israel agrees to end the war in Gaza. Israel, however, has consistently opposed a permanent ceasefire, with its National Security Minister asserting that concluding the war before defeating Hamas would be deemed a “failure.” Ongoing talks in Cairo aim to establish a new truce in the conflict.
The Gaza Government reported on Wednesday that 20,000 people have lost their lives since Israel initiated its military campaign against the group.
