In a striking statement, Rajmund Andrzejczak, the former Chief of Staff of the Polish Armed Forces and current host of the podcast “Ground Zero,” has issued a dire warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Speaking to the German newspaper Bild, he emphasized that any aggression towards Poland or the Baltic states would result in severe retaliation, including the potential destruction of Saint Petersburg.
Andrzejczak articulated that Russia could become a significant threat to NATO if it were to achieve victory in Ukraine. He underscored the precarious situation by noting that Ukraine is currently buying time for NATO, as a Russian triumph could lead to increased military presence in the region. “If Russia wins in Ukraine, we would have a Russian division in Lviv, one in Brest, and one in Grodno,” he explained, suggesting that Poland and Lithuania could find themselves surrounded by Russian forces.
The former general was unequivocal about the consequences of a Russian attack on any NATO member state. “If Russia attacks even an inch of Lithuanian territory, the response will come immediately. Not on the first day, but in the first minute,” he warned, asserting that NATO would target strategic locations within a 300-kilometer radius, with Saint Petersburg being a primary focus.
Andrzejczak’s remarks highlight the escalating tensions in Eastern Europe and the urgent need for NATO to remain vigilant in the face of potential threats.
