Tinubu’s Commitment to Grassroots Development Reinforced During Osun Town Hall Meeting

In a renewed effort to address the development needs of Nigeria’s grassroots, the Personal Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Constituency Affairs, Omotayo Kareem, reaffirmed the President’s dedication to sustainable development, particularly in Osun State. The announcement was made during a Town Hall meeting with key stakeholders in Osogbo, the state capital, on Monday.

Omotayo Kareem emphasized that President Tinubu holds a deep personal commitment to tackling the challenges faced by Nigeria’s local constituencies. She assured the audience that the President recognizes the unique obstacles confronting Osun State, ranging from infrastructure deficiencies to economic hardships, and has pledged to tackle these issues with the urgency they require.

“I want to assure you that Mr. President is committed to working tirelessly to address the issues that matter most to you all,” Kareem stated. She continued by underscoring the President’s vision for the state, which includes providing citizens with access to quality education, healthcare, and robust economic opportunities.

Explaining the creation of her office, Kareem noted that President Tinubu is focused on bridging infrastructural gaps across all constituencies in Nigeria. Her role, she explained, has involved traveling nationwide to gather information on local challenges and ensuring that no constituency is overlooked in the development process.

“We are committed to working with local stakeholders, community leaders, and civil society organizations across the country to turn this vision into reality,” she said, adding that the government’s approach would be rooted in transparency, responsiveness, and accountability.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, who was represented by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, praised President Tinubu for initiating the Town Hall and sending an envoy to engage directly with the people of Osun. The Governor emphasized the importance of a strong federal-state partnership, particularly in driving national development.

“This event is a signal that Mr. President values collective leadership for the delivery of democratic dividends in Nigeria. We commend the President for this initiative,” said Rasheed, noting that such collaborations were essential for advancing national development.

Governor Adeleke also expressed full support for President Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly his efforts to rebuild the national economy. He urged for continued collaboration between the federal government and Osun State, irrespective of political affiliations.

“Our policy from the beginning is that of partnership and collaboration with the centre, free from political colorations. Development must transcend political divisions,” Adeleke affirmed. He further urged the federal government to prioritize the completion of abandoned federal roads in Osun and expressed his gratitude for the palliative measures recently sent to the state.

In conclusion, the Governor reiterated Osun’s support for President Tinubu’s reform agenda and pledged to continue working together to uplift more citizens from poverty, marking a renewed commitment to collaboration and progress for the people of Osun and the entire nation.
