President Tinubu Mourns Victims of Jos School Building Collapse

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic collapse of a school building in Jos, Plateau State, describing it as a significant loss and a devastating event for the nation. The President extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, victims, and the people of Plateau State in a statement released by his Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.

The collapse of the private high school building on Friday morning resulted in a harrowing scene, with over 130 students and teachers trapped under the rubble. Reports indicate multiple fatalities and injuries, with the Plateau State Government confirming 22 deaths and 132 injuries as of Friday evening.

President Tinubu commended the swift response of emergency services, including the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), security agencies, and volunteers who worked tirelessly in the search, rescue, and treatment of survivors.

Assuring the people of Plateau State of his unwavering support during this difficult period, President Tinubu underscored the need for continued efforts to aid those affected by the tragedy. Injured students and staff are currently receiving medical care at various hospitals across Jos as rescue operations continue.
