Lagos Police Arrest 30-Year-Old in Connection with Murder of 17-Year-Old Teen

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 30-year-old man in connection with the suspected murder of 17-year-old Adeolu Olubade. The teenager’s body was discovered buried in a shallow grave inside a house in Ejigbo, Lagos.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, reported that the case emerged when a relative of the victim informed the police that Adeolu Olubade had been found dead and buried in a room at No. 18, Jesus Assembly, Omoguwa Street, Ejigbo.

The report indicated that on September 3, 2024, around 8 AM, a male resident from Ikola, Ipaja Ayobo, Lagos, reported finding his cousin, Adeolu Olubade, buried in a room at the given address. The murder is believed to have occurred between 4 PM and 7 PM on September 2, 2024.

Following the report, detectives visited the crime scene and uncovered the body in a shallow grave. The remains were exhumed and sent to Isolo General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. A shovel, presumed to be the murder weapon, was also recovered from the scene and documented as evidence.

The 30-year-old suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue. SP Hundeyin confirmed that the case file, along with the suspect and the recovered evidence, will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba for further examination.
