Katsina Governor Dikko Radda Vows to Implement New N70,000 Minimum Wage

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enforcing the recently announced N70,000 minimum wage. He made this declaration at the Public Engagement, 2025 Citizens Budget Participation Process, and Launching of the Community Development Programme in Katsina on Thursday.

Governor Radda highlighted that Katsina is prepared to take a leading role in rolling out the new minimum wage. The state is currently awaiting federal guidelines to ensure a smooth and effective implementation. He stressed that his administration is resolute in its efforts to reform the public service sector. Measures such as competency tests for entering public service and for assuming leadership roles have been introduced to ensure a capable and efficient workforce.

Radda reassured that the government remains proactive in enhancing employee welfare and public sector efficiency. He noted that the administration’s emphasis on service delivery reforms, along with its readiness to implement the new minimum wage, reflects a comprehensive strategy designed to improve governance and the quality of life for residents of Katsina State.
