The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi has issued a stern warning to its officers against laziness and the extortion of motorists on the highways. Samuel Oyedeji, the FRSC Sector Commander in Kogi, delivered this message during the opening of a workshop for operation heads at the command’s headquarters in Lokoja.
Oyedeji emphasized that any officer failing in their duties would face strict disciplinary action, including potential dismissal, as a deterrent to others. He underscored the importance of diligence in service, reminding officers that their role is to serve with integrity and avoid actions that could damage the corps’ reputation.
He further stressed that the safety of travelers should be a top priority for the corps and urged officers to be proactive in their response to road accidents. Maintaining the FRSC’s positive public image should be a constant goal, he added.
