The Delta State chapter of the Third Phase of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP) has issued a stern warning against the impersonation of its newly elected National Chairman, Ambassador Preye Ekpebide. The warning was delivered in a statement signed by the chapter’s chairman, Kerebi Ombe, and secretary, Ujeyah Louis, and released to journalists in Asaba on Sunday.
The statement clarified that Ambassador Preye Ekpebide, a Delta State native, was duly elected as the National Chairman of the Third Phase of PAP, succeeding General Tonye Bobo after a peaceful election. The group expressed concern over the activities of Mr. Elaye Slaboh from Bayelsa State, who is allegedly impersonating Ekpebide and falsely claiming to hold the position of National Chairman.
“We, the stakeholders and leaders of the Third Phase of PAP, Delta State chapter, warn against the impersonation of our national chairman, Amb. Preye Ekpebide,” the statement read. The group urged all PAP beneficiaries to disregard any claims made by Slaboh and cautioned that any interactions or transactions with him or his associates would not be recognized by the Delta State chapter or the entire Third Phase beneficiaries.
The group called on the PAP administrator to take urgent action to terminate any dealings with Slaboh in his false capacity. They also petitioned the Delta State Government, the Niger Delta Development Commission, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, International Oil Companies, and other relevant bodies to avoid engaging with Slaboh to maintain peace and ensure the region’s progressive development.
In response to the allegations, Slaboh briefly dismissed the accusations on Monday, stating, “Don’t mind them; they are wasting their time and money. I am the National Chairman of PAP Third Phase.”
