Defunct Heritage Bank Customers in Ebonyi State Urge CBN and NDIC for Prompt Refunds

Customers of the defunct Heritage Bank Limited in Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria, are calling on the National Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to expedite the refund of their cash deposits trapped in the bank.

Mr. Nwafoke Udoka and Mrs. Ukamaka Nwankwo, speaking in Abakaliki, the state capital, made an urgent appeal for intervention. They expressed their distress, noting that they are experiencing significant hardships due to their inability to access their funds for essential needs.

Voice of Nigeria reported that these customers are enduring harsh conditions, waiting outside the bank’s premises under the sun, as they are no longer permitted entry into the building.
