CEASEFIRE IN GAZA COMMENCES FOLLOWING WEEKS OF CONFLICT

A four-day truce, brokered by Qatar, is set to commence at 7 am (0500 GMT) on Friday, marking the first pause in the nearly seven weeks of conflict between Israel and Hamas. The agreement aims to facilitate the flow of desperately needed aid into Gaza. The Gaza Strip experienced intensified bombardment from “air, land, and sea” in the night preceding the start of the Qatar-mediated truce, as reported by the UN. Unfortunately, another Palestinian journalist, Amal Zuhd, and family members were killed in Gaza City, according to the Wafa news agency. Israeli military raids persist overnight in the occupied West Bank, where 211 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of the war. The overall death toll in Gaza has surpassed 14,800 since October 7.
