The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has issued a warning to Hon. Francis Waive, the representative for Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Waive, a member of the APC, recently endorsed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term, which the party deems a serious offense.
In a letter dated September 15, 2024, and signed by Elder Omeni Sobotie, the State Chairman of Delta APC, the party condemned Waive’s endorsement of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governor Oborevwori as a “gross anti-party activity.” The letter highlights that a video of Waive publicly supporting Oborevwori’s re-election has gone viral, causing significant public backlash and tarnishing the party’s image.
The APC has demanded that Waive appear in person within seven days of receiving the letter to provide reasons why he should not face severe disciplinary measures.
