Anambra Ministry of Petroleum Vows Vigilance Against Fuel Station Fraud

The Anambra State Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has announced its proactive stance to intensively monitor filling stations, targeting those manipulating their meters to swindle citizens. Commissioner Anthony Ifeanya delivered this declaration during a press briefing in Awka, the state capital.

In a stern warning, Ifeanya cautioned offenders to cease their illicit activities immediately or face severe legal repercussions. He also admonished vendors selling adulterated fuel at inflated prices to reconsider their actions.

Expressing concern over the numerous complaints flooding his office daily regarding these fraudulent practices, Commissioner Ifeanya condemned such acts as both deceitful and inhumane, particularly amidst challenging times. He stressed that such behavior is intolerable to the state government.

Enumerating the hazards associated with adulterated petroleum products, Ifeanya highlighted increased emissions of hazardous gases, air pollution, and the risk of fires, potentially resulting in loss of life and property.

Ifeanya expressed disapproval towards the “get-rich-quick” mentality of certain individuals, even when it entails significant risks to life and economic resources. He assured that the perpetrators would face appropriate consequences for their actions.
