Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the Governor of Anambra State, has delivered items to Catholic Priests residing at the Priests’ Welfare Home in Awka, the state capital. During her charity tour to children and welfare homes in the state, Mrs. Soludo shared this information.Addressing the gathering at the home, Nonye Soludo reiterated her conviction that everyone should experience the love of the season. She emphasized that her visit aimed to assess the well-being and living conditions of the priests.
Mrs. Soludo committed to maintaining a regular visitation schedule for the home and commended the management for maintaining a well-ordered and healthy environment for the residents.
In an earlier statement, Reverend Father Emmanuel Uduh, the manager of the home, revealed that Mrs. Soludo is the first governor’s wife in history to visit the home. He praised her for consistently thinking about ways to support those in need.Reverend Monsignor Simon Amateze, one of the priests residing in the home, emphasized the significance of charity and the blessings that arise from acts of kindness. He underscored that, by consistently embodying kindness, Mrs. Soludo has earned a lifetime blessing from God.
Following this, the priests offered prayers for the Governor’s wife, her family, the state, and the nation as a whole. The items presented to the home included bags of rice, beans, tubers of yam, and a monetary contribution.
The Welfare Home serves as a residence for Catholic Priests from the Awka and Ekwulobia dioceses who may be elderly, incapacitated, or grappling with serious illnesses.
