Wilfred Ndidi Thrilled to Return to Premier League with Leicester City

After a season in the Championship, Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi expressed his joy at returning to the English Premier League. Having departed the King Power Stadium as a free agent at the end of last season, Ndidi signed a new three-year contract with the Foxes last week, putting him on course to spend a decade with the club.

Ndidi, who became a highly sought-after player before renewing his contract, attracted interest from major clubs such as Barcelona, Sevilla, Juventus, and Everton. His performance last season was instrumental in Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League, contributing four goals, five assists, and maintaining an 82% pass accuracy across 32 league appearances.

In an interview with the club’s media team, the 27-year-old Nigerian midfielder shared his excitement about returning to the top-flight league. “I feel very, very excited. I feel happy to be a part of this and then I can’t wait to get started. It’s very exciting to be back in the Premier League,” Ndidi said.

Despite being a defensive midfielder, Ndidi is open to playing any role in the team. “For me, I’m really, really open to any position on the pitch. I just want to play football, be myself, and with the help of my team – the players, the coaches, the staff – it’s just amazing,” he explained.

Reflecting on his role, Ndidi added, “Scoring goals… You know, if you score a goal, you’re always happy, but if you don’t score, you have to help the team. For me, I’m just very open to helping the team, which I think is very good for me.”

Ndidi’s commitment and versatility are expected to be crucial as Leicester City aims to make a strong impact in the Premier League this season.
