West Ham United is reportedly leading the pursuit of Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman from Atalanta, aiming to bolster their frontline amid competition from Manchester United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain. According to reports, the London club sees Lookman, a 2024 Ballon d’Or nominee, as a key addition to strengthen Julen Lopetegui’s attacking options following a tough season start.
Lookman’s stellar 2023/24 season with Atalanta, where he scored 17 goals and contributed 10 assists, included a remarkable hat-trick in the Europa League final, securing Atalanta’s first European trophy. This standout season earned him a 14th-place finish in the Ballon d’Or rankings, outperforming Premier League talents such as Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Cole Palmer.
Although Lookman remains under contract with Atalanta until 2026, he is reportedly open to a new challenge, with a transfer fee likely around €25 million. West Ham sees the 27-year-old as a natural fit alongside Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, and Lucas Paqueta, particularly as they seek to address Michail Antonio’s advancing age and the limited impact of Niclas Fullkrug.
