Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has quelled speculation about a potential January transfer, reaffirming his dedication to helping the Turkish Süper Lig giants secure silverware this season.
The Nigerian international, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September, has been in scintillating form, netting 12 goals and providing five assists in just 14 appearances across all competitions. His performances have sparked interest from English Premier League heavyweights, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
Recent reports suggested Manchester United officials had approached Napoli regarding a possible deal, but Osimhen and Galatasaray remain focused on their objectives. Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, a close source to Osimhen, confirmed the striker’s decision on the social media platform X: “Victor Osimhen rejected every offer in January 2025 to stay back at Galatasaray for the full season. The plan has always been to win trophies with the team.”
Currently leading the Süper Lig by eight points, Galatasaray are well-positioned to claim their 25th league title. The team is also advancing in their Europa League campaign, with Osimhen’s contributions pivotal to both domestic and European ambitions.
However, questions linger about Galatasaray’s ability to secure Osimhen permanently. Former coach Hamza Hamzaoğlu expressed skepticism, citing financial challenges that could make retaining the striker beyond his loan spell unlikely. This uncertainty has fueled interest from Premier League clubs, with Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly eyeing a summer move for the Super Eagles star.
For now, Osimhen remains laser-focused on Galatasaray’s pursuit of glory, with his commitment bolstering the Yellow-Reds’ chances of a triumphant season on multiple fronts.
