Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has caught the attention of several European clubs, including Premier League side Chelsea, as reported by Transfer News Live. Boniface, who joined Bayer Leverkusen last season for €20 million from Royale Union SG, enjoyed an impressive debut year in the Bundesliga, contributing 31 goals in 39 matches—21 goals and 10 assists. His efforts were pivotal in helping Leverkusen secure both the Bundesliga title and the German Cup, although they narrowly missed out on the Europa League, losing to compatriot Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta in the final.
This season, Boniface has continued his stellar form, netting four goals and providing one assist in just six games. His strong start to the 2024/25 campaign has fueled speculation about a potential transfer, with Chelsea reportedly monitoring his progress closely.
Additionally, scouts from Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle were present during the recent UEFA Champions League match between Atalanta and Arsenal, primarily to observe Lookman, another player linked with future moves.
Victor Osimhen’s situation is also under scrutiny, with clubs like Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain keeping tabs on him. Meanwhile, Leverkusen hopes to retain Boniface, especially after successfully fending off interest from Manchester United last summer. The Bundesliga champions had set a £47 million price tag on the striker, who is currently valued at €40 million and has four years remaining on his contract. If they choose to sell him, Leverkusen aims to secure a significant fee for their star player.
