Despite a chance to advance as one of the best third-placed teams, Cameroon’s 3-2 victory over The Gambia dashed those hopes. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced Hughton’s immediate removal and the dissolution of the technical team. The GFA will outline the future direction for the Black Stars in the coming days. Under Hughton’s tenure, the team faced a 2-1 loss to Cape Verde, drew with Egypt, and suffered a late collapse in their match against Mozambique.
