Ex-Tokyo Marathon Champion Sarah Chepchirchir Faces Provisional Suspension Following Positive Doping Test for Testosterone

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) revealed on Thursday that former Tokyo Marathon winner Sarah Chepchirchir has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for the banned substance testosterone. Chepchirchir, who secured victory in the 2017 Tokyo Marathon, had previously received a four-year ban in 2019, retroactively applied on April 11th, 2018, due to irregularities found in her athlete blood passport.

The AIU, through its official website, announced the recent suspension, stating that the 39-year-old athlete had been officially informed of the doping allegation against her.
