Chelsea will soon learn their opponents for the UEFA Conference League group stage, with the draw scheduled to take place later today at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. The Blues secured their spot in the league phase following a 2-0 victory over Servette in the first leg of the play-off, despite a subsequent 2-1 defeat in the second leg. Christopher Nkunku’s penalty goal was not enough to overcome strikes from Jeremy Guillemenot and Enzo Crivelli, but Chelsea advanced with a 3-2 aggregate score.
With the league phase set to commence in just a few weeks, all eyes are now on the draw, which will determine Chelsea’s opponents in this newly formatted stage of the competition. The Conference League, similar to the Champions League and Europa League, will feature a 36-team league phase starting in October.
In the draw, teams will be divided into six pots, and each club will face six opponents, one from each pot. Teams are prohibited from playing against clubs from their own country and can encounter a maximum of two teams from the same nation.
