The Nigeria Police Force has successfully rescued victims of human trafficking, recovered weapons, and arrested suspects in separate operations conducted in Kaduna and Ogun States.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the details in a statement, revealing that on January 31, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., police operatives in Kaduna apprehended three suspected human traffickers.
“The suspects, identified as Samson Peter (25), Haruna Duniya (45), and Abdulazaq Olawole (58), were intercepted while transporting 13 victims in an unmarked vehicle en route to Oyo State. The victims were successfully rescued, and an investigation into the case is ongoing,” Adejobi stated.
In a separate operation on January 29, 2025, the Ogun State Police Command launched a covert mission to dismantle a kidnappers’ den linked to an abduction case reported on January 25. Upon encountering the police, the criminals engaged in a gunfight, leading to the neutralization of five gang members.
The operation resulted in the rescue of three kidnapped victims and the recovery of firearms, ammunition, three mobile phones, and N5.2 million in cash. Police operatives also retrieved the victims’ vehicles.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun commended the officers for their bravery, dedication, and commitment to safeguarding citizens. He urged all police personnel to remain steadfast in their mission to restore peace and reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to tackling organized crime and security threats nationwide.
