Sean Diddy Combs to Face Trial for Racketeering and Sex Trafficking in May 2025

Music mogul Sean Diddy Combs is scheduled to go on trial for racketeering and sex trafficking on May 5, 2025, following a court hearing on Thursday. Federal Judge Arun Subramanian stated that Combs will remain incarcerated after being indicted last month on three criminal counts related to allegations of sexual abuse and coercing women into drug-fueled sex parties through threats and violence.

Diddy, who has pleaded not guilty to all charges, has been denied bail twice due to prosecutors’ concerns about potential witness tampering. Upon entering the courtroom, he greeted his mother and children, who were present for the hearing, dressed in a light-colored wrinkled shirt and pants.

Prosecutor Emily Johnson highlighted that there is still a significant amount of evidence to review, mentioning that 96 electronic devices were seized in March, which could lead to additional charges.

The allegations against the Grammy-winning artist have escalated since last year when singer Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, accused him of over a decade of coercive behavior involving physical force and drugs, along with a 2018 incident of rape. A series of similar civil lawsuits have emerged, portraying Combs as a figure who exploited his celebrity status to prey on women.

In a striking announcement, lawyers revealed that more than 100 individuals, including some who were children at the time of the alleged incidents, are preparing to file additional legal actions against Combs. The surge of allegations has sparked discussions about a troubling culture within the music industry that many believe enables widespread sexual misconduct.
