Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has taken a strong stand against recent allegations by the All Progressives Congress (APC) concerning the state’s financial status. The APC had accused the current administration of mismanaging funds, but Oborevwori has firmly rebutted these claims, calling them both misleading and politically motivated.
Since assuming office, Governor Oborevwori has prioritized financial prudence, leading to substantial economic achievements. He proudly reported that his administration has successfully saved ₦205 billion in state funds. This fiscal discipline, he noted, has also enabled his government to reduce Delta State’s debt burden by an impressive ₦180 billion. These achievements, according to the governor, are a testament to his commitment to transparency and sound economic management.
Governor Oborevwori further criticized the APC for attempting to undermine the state’s progress with baseless accusations. He stressed that the opposition’s claims were not only unfounded but were also part of a broader strategy to mislead the public and distract from the tangible progress his administration has made. He urged the citizens of Delta State to remain confident in the government’s direction and to not be swayed by the opposition’s rhetoric.
In addition to addressing the APC’s claims, Governor Oborevwori reassured the public of his administration’s dedication to improving the state’s financial health. He reiterated his commitment to ongoing economic reforms and projects aimed at enhancing the living standards of Delta residents. Despite the political challenges, the governor emphasized that his focus remains on sustainable development and the well-being of the people.
The political landscape in Delta State remains tense as the APC continues its criticism of the government. However, Governor Oborevwori’s recent statements reflect his determination to maintain fiscal discipline and uphold the progress made since his tenure began.
