The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings, which were originally set for September 11 and 12, 2024. The announcement was made on Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
In the statement, Morka informed, “Members of the National Caucus and National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress are hereby informed that the National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings scheduled to be held on September 11 and 12, 2024, respectively, have been postponed. New dates for the meetings will be communicated in due course.”
The postponement comes amid speculation that President Bola Tinubu’s international commitments played a role. Sources suggest that the uncertainty regarding the President’s attendance, due to his expected absence from the country for international engagements, influenced the decision. An insider at the APC secretariat indicated, “We understand that the President may not be around in the country on the said dates due to international engagements abroad.”
