Police Commissioner Leads Condolence Visit for Late Kwara Polytechnic Student

On Tuesday, Commissioner of Police Kwara State Command, CP Victor Olaiya, visited the family of the late Quoyum Ishola, a Kwara State Polytechnic student tragically killed last Wednesday. Olaiya, representing Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun, offered condolences to the bereaved family at their home in Alagbon, Oke Andi, Ilorin.

In a statement released by DSP Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, the Police Public Relations Officer for Kwara Command, CP Olaiya expressed gratitude to the family for their cooperation throughout the investigation. The IGP assured that justice would be served, directing the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) to take over the case. All officers involved in the incident have been transferred to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation.

During the visit, Mr. Muselim Abdulyekeen and Mrs. Ramat Abdulyekeen, the parents of the deceased, expressed their gratitude for the support from both the IGP and the Kwara State Police Command. They voiced hope that the investigation would bring justice for their late son. Alhaji Mohamed Kewugbemi, the family’s clergy, offered prayers and praised the police for their dedication to justice. Additionally, Alhaji Erolalujana (Olori-Ebi) expressed appreciation for the police’s support during this difficult period.

The Rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Abdul-Jimoh Mohammed, also joined the police team in a show of solidarity with the family.

The statement concluded with CP Victor Olaiya reaffirming the Kwara State Command’s commitment to ensuring justice and transparency in the case. The incident under investigation involved police officers who allegedly shot and killed Quoyum Ishola during a stop-and-search operation in the Fate area of Ilorin.
