Youths from the Niger Delta region have expressed their appreciation for Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara’s decision to provide operational vehicles to the State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The youths, represented by the South-South Youths Initiative (SSYI), commended the governor for his proactive leadership.
In a statement released on Sunday, Imeabe Oscar, the National President of SSYI, highlighted that the addition of these vehicles would significantly enhance the corps’ operational capabilities and improve overall security in the state. “We commend the governor for responding to the call of the South-South Youths Initiative for the provision of operational vehicles for the NSCDC in the state. We urge him to continue this momentum,” Oscar stated.
He further noted that Fubara’s swift action demonstrates his commitment to effective governance and his willingness to listen to the concerns of the community. “This prompt response shows that he is dedicated to providing quality leadership in the state and reflects his approach as a leader who values the input of his people,” the statement read.
The SSYI also called for greater collaboration between the government and youth organizations, urging the administration to offer opportunities for these groups to contribute meaningfully to the community. The initiative follows a previous appeal made by the group, which requested that the NSCDC be included in the governor’s security plans after he allocated over 100 vehicles to the Rivers State Police Command.
