The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has rebutted allegations suggesting that its warehouse in Abuja fell victim to looting by residents of Gwagwa-Karimo in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). In a statement issued by Ezekiel Manzo, the Agency’s Head of Press, NEMA clarified that the looted warehouse does not belong to them, extending sympathy to the owners of the affected facility.
The statement further elucidated NEMA’s proactive stance in averting security breaches at its facilities nationwide. Director General Mustapha Habib Ahmed has instructed Zonal Directors and Heads of Operations to reinforce security measures in and around NEMA’s offices and warehouses across the country.
This swift response from NEMA aims to dispel misconceptions and ensure the safeguarding of its assets, highlighting the agency’s commitment to maintaining operational integrity amidst challenging circumstances.
