PRESIDENT TINUBU HAS NAMED NEW DIRECTORS FOR PORT AUTHORITY AND NIMASA

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of three Executive Directors to key positions within the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). These appointments fall under the purview of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

Ms. Vivian Richard Edet has been appointed as the Executive Director for Finance & Administration at NPA, while Olalekan Badmus assumes the role of Executive Director for Marine & Operations at NPA. Ibrahim Abba Umar takes on the position of Executive Director for Engineering & Technical Services at NPA.

Additionally, Mr. Jibril Abba has been designated as the Executive Director for Maritime Labour & Cabotage Services, Mr. Chudi Offodile as the Executive Director for Finance & Administration, and Fatai Taye Adeyemi as the Executive Director for Operations.

The announcement, conveyed through a statement by the President’s Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, highlights President Tinubu’s expectations for the appointees to effectively carry out their shared mandate. Their primary objectives include creating favorable conditions for enhancing the Marine & Blue Economy sector’s contribution to the nation’s GDP. The appointees are also tasked with advancing the Nigerian economy towards a more labor-intensive and inclusive structure, aligning with the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
