President Tinubu Appoints New Leadership at Nigerian Ports Authority

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as the Managing Director and Senator Adedayo Adeyeye as Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). The appointments were announced on Friday in a statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Spokesperson.

Dr. Dantsoho brings a wealth of expertise to his new role, holding a Doctorate in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom, and a Master’s degree in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, United Kingdom. His career at the Nigerian Ports Authority includes serving as Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager of Onne Port, and Principal Manager of Tariff & Billing.

Senator Adeyeye, appointed as Board Chairman, is a distinguished lawyer, journalist, and politician. He previously served as Minister of State for Works and represented Ekiti South Senatorial District in the Senate.

President Tinubu expressed confidence in the new leadership team, emphasizing his expectation for them to uphold excellence in their roles. The appointments are aimed at enhancing efficiency in port services and driving improved industrial outcomes under their stewardship.
