President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Mr. Ogunjimi, a highly qualified professional with a wealth of expertise in finance and accounting, as the new Accountant General of the Federation. Ogunjimi’s impressive credentials include being a chartered accountant, certified fraud examiner, chartered stockbroker, and a specialist in security and investment. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and a Master’s in Finance and Accounting.
In a statement, Tinubu expressed his confidence in Ogunjimi’s capabilities, noting the critical role of the Accountant General’s office in managing the nation’s finances. “The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation is pivotal to our nation’s treasury management operations. Mr. Ogunjimi’s wealth of experience and notable competence will ensure the continued effectiveness of this vital institution as we advance our economic reform agenda,” the President said.
Furthermore, Tinubu extended his gratitude to Dr. Madein, the outgoing Accountant General, who will retire upon reaching the civil service’s mandatory retirement age on March 7, 2025. The President praised Dr. Madein for her dedicated and selfless service to the nation, acknowledging her contributions to the public sector over the years.
