President Bola Tinubu Sends Heartfelt Wishes to Justice Mary Odili on Her 72nd Birthday

President Bola Tinubu has conveyed warm regards to the esteemed legal luminary, Justice Mary Odili, CFR, retired Supreme Court justice, on the occasion of her 72nd birthday.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, the President lauded Justice Odili’s exceptional achievements in the legal field, highlighting her efforts in advocating for the marginalized and supporting the less privileged.

Reflecting on Mrs. Odili’s impactful initiatives during her tenure as the First Lady of Rivers State, President Tinubu emphasized projects like The Adolescent Project (TAP), which provided education, healthcare, social rehabilitation, and empowerment services to vulnerable adolescent girls, directly benefiting over 500,000 individuals. Notably, this initiative received the Global Health Council Award for Safe Motherhood in Washington D.C. in May 2001.

President Tinubu extended his best wishes to Justice Odili for continued health and many more years of dedicated service to the nation.

Justice Mary Odili, who also served as the President of the National Association of Women Judges of Nigeria (NAWJN) and Chairperson of the Body of Benchers, spearheaded transformative reforms, including restructuring the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee by establishing three panels.

Furthermore, Justice Odili held the position of Deputy Chairman of the National Judicial Council (NJC), where she played a pivotal role in the nation’s highest judicial commission, serving as Deputy to the Chairman (Chief Justice of the Federation).
