Nigeria’s House Speaker Abbas Tajudeen Leads Delegation to Commiserate Over Kaduna School Abduction

In response to the distressing abduction of school children in Kuriga community, the Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, spearheaded a prominent delegation of House members to Kaduna State. The visit, aimed at expressing solidarity and support, saw Speaker Abbas and his colleagues meeting with Governor Uba Sani to convey their condolences and discuss collaborative efforts in tackling insecurity.

Expressing profound sorrow over the resurgence of kidnappings in Kaduna State, Speaker Abbas pledged the House’s commitment to leveraging legislative tools to address insecurity both locally and nationally. He emphasized the imperative of preventing such tragic incidents from recurring and applauded the efforts of the state government in combating insecurity.

Governor Uba Sani, while appreciating the visit, urged the House to reconsider the establishment of state police, highlighting the paramount importance of safeguarding citizens’ lives and property.

Accompanying Speaker Abbas were prominent House members, including Caucus Leaders and representatives from various regional caucuses, underscoring the unified stance against insecurity. The delegation also included members of the Kaduna State Caucus, demonstrating solidarity with the affected community.

The abduction of over 280 school children by bandits in Kuriga underscores the pressing need for concerted efforts to address security challenges and ensure the safety of all citizens.
