“It was a New Year’s visit to Mr. President, a moment to felicitate with him and pledge our collective support,” Sanwo-Olu said. “We assured him of our commitment to work under his leadership and deliver transformative governance to Nigerians.”

Federal-State Partnership

President Tinubu, in response, thanked the governors for their support and urged them to continue implementing policies that positively impact citizens. He emphasized the importance of synergy between the federal and state governments, noting that such collaboration would accelerate national progress.

Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted that the meeting underscored the President’s dedication to providing full backing for transformative policies at the state level. The President also emphasized the need for collective efforts in fostering progress and unity across the country.

Optimism for 2025

Describing the meeting as a strong start to the new year, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed optimism that 2025 would bring tangible improvements to the lives of Nigerians. He stated that the engagement reinforced a unified vision between the federal and state governments to achieve national goals.

“A lot of us are very expectant, and we’ve shared this optimism with citizens. We’re confident that things will improve significantly for all Nigerians in the coming year,” he said.
