Youths from the Niger Delta, under the platform of the Host Communities Producing Oil, Gas and Pipeline Impacted States’ Youth Council of Nigeria (HOSTCONYCN), have firmly rejected recent calls for the removal of Engr. Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
During a peaceful protest in Abuja, the youths described the demands for Ojulari’s sack as unfounded and counterproductive. They praised his leadership style, commending his record of competence, transparency, and reform-driven approach since assuming office.
Speaking at the demonstration, the National President of HOSTCONYCN, Emmanuel Fiawei, voiced the council’s full support for the NNPCL boss. He applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Ojulari, noting that his leadership has already brought visible progress to the oil and gas sector.
Fiawei stressed that Ojulari has spearheaded critical reforms aimed at restructuring and sanitising the industry, which remains vital to Nigeria’s economic stability. He urged stakeholders to rally behind the GCEO to ensure sustained growth in the sector.
