Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has clarified that it has not yet scheduled a date for the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The clarification was issued by INEC’s Chief Press Secretary, Rotimi Oyekanmi, through a post on the commission’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. Oyekanmi also stated that there is currently no timeline for the transfer or replacement of lost Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).
He urged the public to disregard anonymous and false statements circulating online that claim the voter registration exercise will resume on May 27, calling such claims baseless.
Oyekanmi reaffirmed that INEC will announce the official resumption date for voter registration and related services through its verified communication channels when appropriate.
