FIRST LADY MRS. REMI TINUBU EXPRESSES HOPE FOR NIGERIA

Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of Nigeria’s President, conveyed optimism for the nation, emphasizing that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is laying the groundwork for a stronger country, paving the way for a prosperous future for all citizens.

Addressing an event organized in her honor by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) in Sierra Leone, the First Lady highlighted the government’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens, evident in the bold policies and programs currently in place.

“I can assure you; you can trust my husband. Nigeria is like a fresh baby that we have to nurture. We hope to lay a good foundation that generations will be able to build upon. We are in it to make sure we can turn our nation around,” she assured the audience.

Mrs. Tinubu commended Nigerians living in Sierra Leone for their unity, despite diverse tribal and religious backgrounds, urging a similar unity among Nigerians at home.

The President of NIDO in Sierra Leone, Mr. Abiodun Oyebola, expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s administration on behalf of the Nigerian community in Sierra Leone. He praised Mrs. Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative for its impactful work and appealed for collaboration with other African First Ladies to replicate programs supporting widows and orphans of the Armed Forces in their respective countries.

Additionally, the Nigerian community in Sierra Leone sought Mrs. Tinubu’s assistance in realizing their project of establishing a Nigerian Hospital in the country. During the dinner event, some members of the Nigerian community also called for the inclusion of Nigerians in the diaspora in future voting processes back home.

The First Lady’s visit to Sierra Leone was at the invitation of the country’s First Lady to commemorate the UN Day on the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence, held on November 18, 2023.
