It was a colorful scene at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, as Nigerians, fans, beauty pageant enthusiasts, and journalists gathered to welcome reigning international queens Miss Earth 2024, Jessica Lane, and Milan Beatrice.
The queens arrived ahead of their headline appearance at the E1 Championship Fashion Showcase this weekend, part of the Human Tourism Campaign, alongside renowned Nigerian designer Maryam Elisha of Rikaoto.
Their arrival was marked by a vibrant cultural welcome, with a local troupe thrilling the visitors through traditional drumming and dance. Cameramen and media crews swarmed to capture the glamorous moment as the queens stepped into Nigeria, smiling and waving to the cheering crowd.
They were each presented with bouquets of fresh flowers as a gesture of Nigerian hospitality. Both dazzled in stylish travel outfits, posing for photographs and greeting fans.
Speaking at the event, Jessica Lane described Nigeria as “the heart of Africa,” expressing delight at the warm reception. “We are honored to experience the color, life, and celebration of love and culture,” she said. Lane added that beauty and fashion should always be celebrated and hinted that the queens are excited to blend a touch of Nigerian heritage and tradition into their outfits for the Rikaoto Fashion Show.
The highly anticipated showcase promises a fusion of global elegance and Nigerian cultural flair.
