John Cena Opens Up About Choosing a Child-Free Life

American actor and professional wrestler John Cena has recently shared his reasons for choosing to remain child-free, addressing the topic during an interview on the Club Shay Shay show. At 47, Cena and his wife have decided not to have children, a choice he discussed candidly.

Cena explained that despite societal pressures and the natural inclination to reproduce, he and his wife have opted for a different path. “I don’t want kids. I’m 47 now, and I don’t have them,” he said. “A lot of why we’re here is to reproduce, but I’ve reflected on my own nature and realized it doesn’t align with the demands of parenting.”

He detailed his personal considerations, acknowledging his own curiosity about life and his understanding of the significant investment required for effective parenting. “I have a certain curiosity about life, and I also know the investment it takes. My biggest fear is, as someone who’s driven and often stubborn, I don’t think I’m ready, nor will I ever be able to invest the time needed to be a great parent,” Cena added.

Cena emphasized that he and his wife have had open discussions about their decision and share the same values regarding their child-free choice. “I want to live life to the fullest, and I still have a lot to do. We have a wonderful partnership and have had these conversations long before we got married,” he explained.

He also addressed the challenges of discussing such personal decisions, acknowledging that it can lead to judgment from others. “It’s a tough subject because it immediately puts you in a category, and we’re all judgmental by nature,” Cena said. “I’ve thought long and hard about this since I was 15 or 16 years old.”

Cena, who announced his retirement from wrestling in July, reaffirmed his commitment to pursuing his passions and living his life according to his own values.
