BUA GROUP TO UPHOLD THE COST OF CEMENT AT N3,500

The BUA Group Chairman, Abdul-Samad Rabiu, affirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining the selling price of cement at N3,500 per bag starting from January 2024. Following a visit to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, Mr. Rabiu assured State House Correspondents that despite various challenges, the company would uphold accessibility and affordability for customers.

He explained that the set price includes the ex-factory cost plus VAT, with delivery costs varying based on the region and distance. BUA Group operates factories in Edo and Sokoto states, and Mr. Rabiu emphasized that the promise to keep the price stable applies, even considering delivery challenges to distant locations like Lagos from Sokoto, Adamawa, or Maiduguri.

Highlighting the upcoming inauguration of a new cement site in Sokoto by January 2024, Mr. Rabiu anticipated that the expansion would contribute to meeting market demands nationwide, with a combined production capacity of six million tonnes per annum. Despite acknowledging some challenges, he expressed confidence in addressing and overcoming them.

Mr. Rabiu concluded by sharing that his visit to the President was a festive greeting for Christmas and New Year, describing it as a pleasant occasion.
