A state institution, the Administrative Control Agency (ACA), has announced the temporary suspension of Libya’s oil and gas minister in the Government of National Unity. The decision, issued by ACA head Abdullah Qadirbuh, is based on an ongoing legal investigation concerning case No.178, which reportedly uncovered legal violations.
The ACA revealed the suspension on its verified Facebook page, but refrained from providing further details regarding the nature of the violations. The minister’s full name was not disclosed in the statement; instead, only the three initials were used.
As of now, the oil ministry has not officially received a copy of the suspension decision, according to a source within the ministry.
The ACA, tasked with overseeing government performance, holds authority to challenge appointments to public positions and to ensure public accountability.
