ECOWAS Trains Election Observers for Senegal’s Presidential Election

Officials from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission are currently conducting training sessions for election observers hailing from member states in Dakar, Senegal. This training initiative precedes their deployment to various polling stations on Sunday, March 24, 2024, for Senegal’s Presidential election.

The primary focus of the training is to equip 130 observers with essential skills in utilizing tablets, which will serve as crucial tools for transmitting real-time information from polling stations to the ECOWAS situation room.

The observers, organized into groups of two or three, consist of both first-time participants and seasoned veterans whose prior experiences will prove invaluable for ensuring a successful mission.

The ECOWAS Commission has provided an ample supply of SIM cards and tablets to facilitate the upcoming election observation exercise, expressing confidence in achieving a satisfactory outcome.
