Sexual harassment, rape at IDPs inexcusable – Saraki
2 November 2016 National
Dr. Bukola Saraki, who is the President of the Senate, has reacted to the latest report of alleged sexual harassment of girls and women at the Internally Displaced Camps, IDPs, by camp officials and security operatives.
The Human Rights Watch on Monday released the report accusing Nigerian officials of sexually exploiting women and girls at the IDPs.
Saraki has reacted to the report saying the increasing social injustices like rape, diversion of food items and other corruption related cases within the Internally Displaced Persons’ camps are inexcusable.
He said this when a delegation of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees led by Angele Dikongue-Atangana visited him at the National Assembly, Abuja.
