Okowa Calls For Restructuring Of Civil Service

Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has advocated for the re-engineering of the civil service to meet the present needs of the nation.

Speaking during the thanksgiving service at the weekend held at Grace and Progress Family Chapel, Asaba, to honour the state’s Head of Service, Mr Reginald Bayoko on his appointment and 50th birthday celebration, Governor Okowa said that the civil service as the engine room of governance needed to be restructured into a more dedicated, effective and efficient service with service delivery as its watchword.

The governor in his speech said there was need to rebuild the civil service and which had to start from the heart, as governance was from the heart;  not forgetting to emphasize on the need for dedication, efficiency and effectiveness.

He admonished all to not make governance to be all about money and the emphasized on the need for more dedicated civil servants while weeding out the bad ones.
