JAMB Withdraws 2016 Admission List from Institutions

1 August 2016 National

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have announced the withdrawal of the 2016 admission list earlier sent to all tertiary institutions in the country.
In a statement signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Dr Fabian Benjamin, he said institutions are now to make their own list to JAMB in-line with Federal Government’s guideline on admissions.

However, he said University Senate should perform its statutory responsibility of conducting the selection of candidates and refer it to JAMB for confirmation in line with the admission criteria of merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states as directed by the Hon Minister of Education at the Policy Committee Meeting.

He also stated that the earlier list was sent to help fast track the process of admission so as to allow other tiers of institutions also conduct their admission.

He pleaded that candidates should not panic because this was part of the process of the 2016 admission exercise, stating that JAMB regrets any inconvenience this decision would have caused the tertiary institutions.
