365 Days in Office – Buhari Calls for Continued Support

President Muhammadu Buhari has clocked 365 days in office with a call on Nigerians to continue to support the administration’s effort to fix the country.

The President made this appeal in his national broadcast today to commemorate his first year in office and Democracy Day.

He announced the launch of the much anticipated social protection programme worth five hundred billion naira to help lift the vulnerable poor out of poverty.

On the Niger Delta, President Buhari reaffirmed the commitment of his government to implement the United Nations Environment Programme report that would facilitate the cleanup of the devastated ecosystem.

The president lamented the spate of infrastructural decay caused by corruption and neglect.

President Buhari pledged to stop insurgency and oil pipelines vandalism. He promised that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

Recall that President Muhammadu of All Progressives Congress was sworn into office on May 29, 2015 as the fourth elected president of Nigeria since 1999 when the military under General Abdulsalami Abubakar handed over power to civilian government.
