Boko Haram has not been crushed – Shekau

29 December 2016 National

Leader of Boko Haram insurgents, Abubakar Shekau has dismissed claims by President Muhammadu Buhari that the group has been flushed out of its hideout, Sambisa Forest.

In a new video, Shekau insists he and his members are safe, stressing that their location cannot be revealed.

It was not immediately clear where the new video was shot, but Shekau, who spoke in both Hausa and Arabic, said it was filmed on Christmas Day.

He pledged to continue fighting on until an Islamic state was imposed in northern Nigeria.

Shekau last appeared in a video in September where he disputed a claim by the Nigerian military that he had been wounded in battle.

Recall that Buhari had recently commended the Military for capturing camp Zairo, a major hideout for Boko Haram commanders, which is located in Sambisa Forest.

Has Boko Haram really been defeated?

Meanwhile, a video clip of fleeing Boko Haram Terrorists from Camp Zairo, Sambisa Forest following Air bombardment and takeover of their camp by the Nigerian troops has been provided by the Nigerian Army to further prove that the Army has won the battle.

Army Spokesman, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman confirmed the authenticity of the video.
Camp Zairo in the Sambisa Foreat is reportedly the insurgents’ stronghold.

In a related development, Major General, Leo Irabor, Theatre Commander of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, has revealed how the military stormed the dreaded Sambisa forest hitherto occupied by the Boko Haram sect.

In a text of his media briefing and made available to newsmen, Irabor affirmed that troops had cleared Camp Zairo, the last stronghold of Boko Haram Terrorists, deep inside Sambisa Forest.

The commander also released video clip of fleeing terrorists from the forest following air bombardment and assault on the camp by troops.
